August 24, 2011, Geneva - President and Chairman of the Management Board of
Sberbank of Russia Herman Gref was elected to the Board of Directors of the
World Economic Forum (WEF) for a term of 3 years.
Since 2008, Sberbank of Russia has been a strategic partner of the World
Economic Forum. In 2009, Sberbank's head Herman Gref became a member of WEF
International Business Council.
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization
committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business,
political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional
and industry agendas. Its annual meeting is known as the World Economic
Forum in Davos, and it brings together the most renowned politicians,
businessmen and public figures from all over the world.
